Submission Policy

Any registered member of the OpenXmlDeveloper.org web site may contribute content.  To submit content to the forums, simply post your questions and comments.

To submit content for other areas, email the following information to oxmladmn@microsoft.com:

  • A description of your submission with an attached file, or the entire content of your submission in-line with the email message.
  • Your alias on OpenXmlDeveloper.org; optionally, you may provide additional information such as your name and company name.
  • The section of the site where you feel your submission should appear (News, Library or Workspaces).

A site administrator will then contact you with any questions about your submission if needed, and when all information has been provided your submission will be posted to the site and attributed to you.

Down under the "Notice Specific to Documents Available on this Web Site" there is the boilerplate sentence "Use for any other purpose is expressly prohibited by law, ... ."  I've seen that many times, and I don't know why it stopped me this time, but I don't believe it is accurate (and the statement is not made under the "Notice Specific to Software and Other Materials").  

It is probably more accurate to say that no other rights are granted with addition of whatever else is found useful to say about the efforts that will be made with regard to infractions.  

I'm here, so I'm not that disturbed about the TOU, yet it seems to me that if we are going to write these acutely legalese terms they could be be more precise in what they claim and in what they grant.
